won the starting designated hitter job late in
the season and batted .304 while appearing in 18
games on the year and .342 in 11 Pacific Coast
Conference games. ... Started at first in the
Comets' 10-5 victory on the road against
defending Pacific Coast Conference champion
Grossmont on the road on Feb. 28 and went 1-for-1
with a single, sacrifice fly and RBI. Also
reached base as a hit batter in the game. ...
Went 2-for-5 with a double as the Comets' DH in a
9-5 win over Los Angeles Pierce on Feb. 3. ...
Singled to drive in a run against Irvine Valley
on Feb. 14. ... Went 3-for-4 with a double in a
win over San Diego Mesa on April 18. ... Was
2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs against San
Diego City College on April 25, and went 2-for-4
in the Comets' regular-season finale, a 10-3 win

and singled in the second inning.

All-Palomar League selection as a senior under
onetime Palomar baseball and basketball star Sam
Blalock, the winningest high school coach in San
Diego County history, at Rancho Bernardo High.
