Will miss the first round of the Southern California Regionals with a strained muscle in his shoulder. ... Has struck out 54 batters in 85 1/3 innings, both to lead the team. ... Threw the Comets' first shutout of the season April 9, beating Imperial Valley 2-0 with a four-hitter on the road when he struck out nine and walked two. ... Threw the first 8 2/3 innings of a 3-0 shutout win on the road against San Diego City College on April 2. ... Pitched seven-hit ball for seven innings, surrendering a pair of runs, to record the victory in a 8-4 win over Canada on Feb. 2. ... Stopped Cypress on two earned runs and seven hits over 7 2/3 innings on Feb. 9 but was tagged with the loss. ... Beat Orange Coast, which entered the game with a 10-1 record, by throwing six innings of six-hit ball on Feb. 27. ... Has defeated San Diego Mesa twice in Pacific Coast Conference play, on Feb. 26 when threw seven innings while giving up six hits and not giving up an earned run, and on March 12 when he took a six-hitter and a 10-1 lead into the bottom of the ninth before tiring and having to leave the game. ... Was outstanding in a starting role against Glendale on March 26 in the Palomar Easter Series tournament, when he took a 3-2 lead into the ninth inning only to be tagged with the loss. ... 2001 SEASON: Finished the season 5-0 with an ERA of 1.61, which led the Pacific Coast Conference, for 44 1/3 innings. ... Had 28 strikeouts and nine walks. ... Owned an ERA of 0.00 in the Pacific Coast Conference, appearing in seven games and throwing 21 2/3 innings. ... Defeated San Diego Mesa with three innings of shutout relief on March 12, Moorpark with two innings of shutout relief on April 10, Golden West in a starting role on April 13, San Diego Mesa with eight shutout innings on April 24 and Imperial Valley in a starting role on April 29.

2000 SEASON: Redshirted at Palomar.

HIGH SCHOOL: Was an All-CIF-San Diego Sectioin selection and an all-league pick at Ramona under coach Dave Lohman. ... Was 8-2 as a pitcher his senior year while batting .417 with eight home runs. ... Also was 8-2 as a pitcher as a junior, when he also batted .407 with seven homers. ... Played in both the North County All-Star game and the Jack Taylor County All-Star Game.
