2001 SEASON: Played solid defense at shortstop in a highly-regarded left side of Palomar's infield, where he teamed with UC Irvine-bound Steve Guthrie, who played third base. ... Batted .311 entering postseason play and finished the season at .301. ... Tied for fourthon the team in doubles with 13 and tied for second with 21 walks. ... Had multiple-hit games against Canada on Feb. 3, vs. Saddleback on Feb. 9, vs. Irvine Valley twice on Feb. 16, vs. College of the Siskiyous on Feb. 17 when he was 4-for-4 with a double, vs. Long Beach City College on Fe. 20, vs. Orange Coast on Feb. 21 when the Comets handed the Pirates their first loss against a California opponent, vs. Grossmont on March 3, vs. San Diego Mesa on March 12, vs. Southwestern on March 23, vs. Golden West on April 12 and vs. Imperial Valley on May 3. ... Stole nine bases on 10 attempts.. ... Set the tone on Feb. 18 by stealing home in the first inning for the Comets' first run in a 15-1 victory over College of the Siskiyous.
