Whitney DeWeese is in her third year of coaching at the college level
coaching the throws (shot put, discus, hammer, and javelin). She began her
track and field career as a Freshmen at Rancho Buena Vista High School where
she was a three year State Championship qualifier and holds the school
records in both Shot Put and Discus. After high school, she earned a
scholarship to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where she studied Psychology and
competed on the Track and Field team for four years. Being voted team
captain for two years in a row, she made it to the Big West Championships
all four years and placed in the top 10 in both Shot Put and Discus. After
graduating, Whitney was hired as an assistant weight lifting coach for the
Cal Poly Track and Field team where she moved on to coach at Orange Glen
High School and Calavera Hills Middle School and now hopes to have much
success in the throws for the Palomar College Women's Track and Field team.
