2009 SEASON: Struck out 10 batters, with two walks, over 9 1/3 innings as a key member of an outstanding freshman pitching corps on a sophomore-dominated staff. ... Struck out seven batters in five innings in Pacific Coast Conference games. ... Took the loss in relief on Jan. 19 in a loss to Santa Ana, then the No. 1-ranked team in Southern California but came back to pitch 5 2/3 consecutive scoreless innings. ... Threw two shutout innings against Golden West on Jan.31, striking out two and walking none. ... Pitched a hitless, scoreless relief inning in a 22-2 win at Rio Hondo. ... Came on to retire Imperial Valley with a 1-2-3 ninth inning in a 12-3 win over the Arabs on March 7. ...
