2009 SEASON: Sidelined for the season with an injury. ... Finished 1-0 with a 1.98 ERA coming out of the bullpen as a true freshman. ... Had seven strikeouts in 13 2/3 innings. ... Retired the only batter he faced against Santa Ana, then the No. 1-ranked team in Southern California, on Jan. 29. ... Pitched two shutout innings, giving up one hit, in a 6-0 win at College of the Desert on Feb. 10. ... Also threw two shutout innings with one hit vs. Mt. SAC on Feb. 13. ... Pitched a shutout relief inning and allowed one hit as the Comets knocked off Southwestern, the runner-up in the 2008 state tournament, by a 5-3 score on Feb. 28 at Southwestern. ... Pitched a scoreless inning out of the pen in a 7-1 win over San Diego City College on March 12. ... Picked up the win in relief in a 5-3 victory at Mt. SAC on March 8, throwing a scoreless, hitless inning. ... Pitched 2/3 of a scoreless inning in a 13-0 win over San Diego Mesa on March 19. .... Came on to throw a hitless relief inning on March 21 as the Comets pinned a 9-2 loss on Southwestern, which came in ranked No. 1 in Southern California, at Myers Field.
