2009 SEASON: All-Pacific Coast Conference honorable mention. ... Appeared in 21 games,  20 as a reliever and went 2-0with a 3.46 ERA. ... Struck out 41 batters and walked  14 in 39 innings. ...  In Pacific Coast Conference games, Strong wwas 2-0 with a 2.31 ERA and 30 strikeouts compared with only six walks in 23 1/3 innings. ... Pitched a one-hit, scoreless relief inning at Orange Coast on Feb. 11. ... Has scoreless relief appearances against Imperial Valley (in a win on Feb.21) and San Diego Mesa (in a win on Feb. 26). ... Recorded the pitching win in relief as the Comets defeated Imperial Valley 12-3 on March 7. Threw three innings of shutout ball, striking out three. ... Recorded his second win on March 24 when he allowed one run in three relief innings and struck out three as Palomar defeated host Southwestern, who came into the game ranked No. 1 in Southern California, 5-4 in 10 innings. ... Struck out five batters in three innings, giving up one run on two hits, as the Comets, ranked third  in Southern California, topped No. 4 Grossmont 10-7 on the road to open a two-game lead in the two teams' battle for first place. ... Pitched a 1-2-3 eighth inning, striking out one, to set up Casey Edelbrock's seventh save in a 4-1 win over Imperial Valley on April 2. ... Struck out two batters in 2/3 of a scoreless inning vs. Mt. San Jacinto on April 7. ... Came back against the same team on April 9 to throw three strong innings as the Comets pinned a 7-3 loss on the Eagles, who entered the game with a 27-5 record and a 12-game winning streak. Allowed one hit and struck out two while throwing three shutout innings.... Pitched two innings of no-hit, shutout relief  on April 14 as the Comets downed host San Diego City College 17-5 to stretch their lead over second-place Grossmont in the Pacific Coast Conference race to three games with seven to play. ... Came on to get the Comets out of a seventh-inning jam at Southwestern on April 23, retiring the only two batters he faced on foul pop-up and a strikeout. ... Pitched two shutout innings, allowing one hit, to set up Casey Edelbrock's school-record 10th save on April 25 as Palomar, ranked No. 1 in Southern California beat Southwestern 4-2 at Myers Field to clinch the undisputed conference championship. ... Combined with Bobby Shore, Aaron Edwards and Tyler Grihalva to pitched a five-hitter as the Comets downed Citrus 10-2 to begin a two-game sweep of the Owls as the teams began the Southern Cal Regionals with a best-of-3 series.... Pitched in relief in three of Palomar's four Super Regional games. ... Pitched a shutout inning vs. Santa Ana on May 16 and came in to get the third out in the seventh inning as the Comets defeated Long Beach City College 7-3 later the same day.
