2009 SEASON: All-Pacific Coast Conference honorable mention. ... Was a set-up man and part-time closer for the nationally sixth-ranked and Southern California No. 1-ranked Comets. ... Was 1-0 with two saves and an ERA of 2.51 through the regular season (3.06 on the year). ... Struck out 17 batters and walked eight in 17 2/3 innings. ... Had a 1-0 record and a 3.86 ERA for 9 1/3 innings in Pacific Coast Conference games, striking out 12 batters. ... Recorded his first save of the season on Jan. 27, pitching a hitless ninth inning as the Comets won 5-2 on the road over Southern California No. 2-ranked Cypress. ... Struck out the only two batters he faced, setting up closer Casey Edelbrock's win, as the Comets defeated Southern California No. 4-ranked Grossmont 5-4 in 10 innings on March 26. ... Threw a 1-2-3 ninth inning against Mt. San Jacinto on April 7, striking out one. ... Worked a hitless, scoreless ninth inning on April 9 to preserve a 7-3 lead as the Comets pinned a 7-3 loss on Mt. San Jacinto, which came into the game with a 27-5 record. ... Retired San Diego City College 1-2-3 in the ninth inning, striking out two of the three batters he faced, in a 7-2 win on April 16. ... Pitched 1 1/3 innings of no-hit, shutout ball on April 18 to pick up the victory as the Comets defeated San Diego Mesa 7-6 in San Diego. ... Pitched a hitless, scoreless inning on May 8 in a 10-2 win over Citrus as the Comets opened their Southern California first-round regional series with the Owls by winning on their way to a sweep of the teams' best-of-3 series.
