PERSONAL: Born Aug. 21, 1988, in La Jolla, CA. ... Son of Darrin and Lisa Lee. ... Has one brother (Korey, 9) and one sister (Karissa, 16).

ACADEMICS: One of the highest-ranking students in his graduating class at Rancho Buena Vista High School, the largest school in San Diego County, with a 4.56 grade-point average. ... Carries a 3.6 GPA at Palomar and is on the Dean's List. ... Liberal Arts major.

2008 SEASON: Had three doubles, a triple, two home runs and 11 RBIs playing catcher and designated hitter. ... Played in 29 games, starting 20. ... Slugged a two-run home run against Fullerton on Feb. 8. ... Went 2-for-4 with a triple, double and four RBIs in a 7-2 win at Imperial Valley on April 3. ... Played a key role in the bottom of the eighth inning on April 18, as Palomar scored five times in the inning to down San Diego Mesa 8-4. Appearing as a pinch-runner for Jason Laws, who had singled to lead off the inning, he beat the throw to second on Matt Frankfurth's sacrifice fielder's choice. Lee's hustle and slide gave the Comets a two-on, none out situation instead of having one out and a runner at first. ... Went 2-for-4 and doubled vs. Grossmont on April 22. ... Slugged a three-run home run in the seventh inning of a 13-2 victory over Imperial Valley on April 29.

HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL: Played two varsity seasons under coach Leo Fletes at Rancho Buena Vista, making first-team All-Avocado League as a senior and being selected to the San Diego Union-Tribune All-Academic team in both 2005 and 2006. ... Hit .371 as a senior with three home runs and 28 RBIs....
