PERSONAL: Born Dec. 23, 1988, in San Diego. ... Son of Mike and Sheri Frankfurth. ... Has one brother, Chris, and two sisters, Jamie and Katie.

ACADEMICS: Had a 3.1 grade-point average at University City High. ... Kinesiology major.

2008 SEASON: Hitting .313 for 32 at-bats in Pacific Coast Conference games playing first base and the outfield. ... Also was 3-0 for the season coming out of the bullpen as a pitcher. ...  Pitched a scoreless eighth inning in the Comets' season opener at Cypress on Jan. 26. ... Threw three relief innings to notch his first community college win 13-5 over Ventura on Feb. 8. ... Got the win with a three-inning stint on Feb. 15 as the Comets downed Mt. SAC 9-4. ... Pitched 1 2/3 innings of shutout ball to beat San Bernardino Valley 13-5 on March 21. ... Came off the bench to double to left field in the top of the 10th at Pacific Coast Conference leader Southwestern on March 29, but was left stranded as the Jaguars won 3-2 in the bottom of the inning. ... Went 2-for-3 vs. Grossmont on April 22. ... Singled to drive in what turned out to be the winning run in the first inning of a 4-1 win over Imperial Valley on May 1. ... Went 2-for-4, doubled and drove in two runs in a Southern California Regional game against Cuesta on May 9 in San Luis Obispo. ... Jumped up, reached over the top of the fence and caught the ball to rob Cuesta's Brian Farris of a home run in the eighth inning in a 6-5, 10-inning loss to the Cougars that ended the Comets' season.
