SEASON: Appeared in 14 games, 12 of them in relief,
and compiled a 2.91
ERA. ... Struck out 15 batters and walked six in 21 2/3
innings. ... Pitched three innings without giving up an earned run,
striking out three, in the Comets' season opener at
Cypress on Jan. 26. ... Made his first community college
start on Feb. 14 at Mt. San Jacinto, giving up two runs
on four hits in 6 2/3 innings. Wasn't involved in the
decision ... Came on in the third inning at Orange Coast
on Feb. 19, surrendering one run in 2 2/3 innings. ...
Pitched 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief in an 8-6 win
at Grossmont on Feb. 28. ... Threw a scoreless relief
inning as the Comet won 13-4 on the road against San
Diego Mesa on March 11. ... Closed a 10-4 victory over
San Joaquin Delta on March 20, getting the Comets out of
a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the ninth inning with a
double-play grand ball. ... Got Palomar out of another
jam in a 13-5 win on the road against San Bernardino
Valley the following day, entering the game with the
bases loaded and one out in the fifth inning and getting
the Wolverines fourth and fifth batters to pop out to
second and strike out. Pitched 1 2/3 innings without
giving up an earned run. ... Closed the Comets' 7-2
victory at Imperial Valley on April 3 with three perfect
innings, striking out three. ... Also saw spot duty in
the infield, starting three games at second base.
