PERSONAL: Born May 11, 1987, in La Jolla. ...  Son of Jim and Matilda McLaughlin. ... Has two adult sisters, Emily and Shannon.

2007 SEASON: Received All-Pacific Coast Conference honorable mention selection after going 7-3 with a 3.59 ERA. ... Led the team in wins. ... Struck out 50 batters in 82 2/3 innings.  ... Was 5-1 with an 3.91 ERA in Pacific Coast Conference games, striking out 33 batters in 48 1/3 innings. ... Recorded his first win of the season on Jan. 30, beating Santa Ana 4-3 on the road, giving up one run on four hits in 7 1/3 innings. ... Pitched the first 6 1/3 innings at nationally No. 2-ranked Riverside Community College on Feb. 9. Left the game in the seventh inning with a 4-3 lead and was not the pitcher of record in a game the Tigers came back to win 7-5.  ... Beat Cerro Coso 5-1 on a complete-game five-hitter, striking out seven and walking two, on Feb. 16. ... Pitched seven innings of two-hit, shutout ball, as the Comets won 12-2 at Imperial Valley on March 1. ... Shut out San Diego City College on five hits over seven innings on March 6 in a game the Comets won 7-0. ... Notched his fifth victory on  March 17, giving up three earned runs, striking out five and walking one in a 9-5 win over Grossmont. ... Was the winning pitcher in a 14-2 victory at Imperial Valley on March 20, throwing the first five innings and striking out four. ... Gave up two earned runs on three hits over six innings at San Diego Mesa on March 27 in a game Palomar eventually won 4-3 in 12. ... Gave up two earned runs in six innings, striking out four and walking none, against Golden West on April 3. ... Pitched six innings of two-hit, shutout ball in a 16-0 rout of Imperial Valley on April 24, combining on the shutout with Drew Widmark,  Jeff Ibarra, Nick Robertson and Ronnie Loefflert. ... Came on in relief to strike out the final batter as the Comets closed out the season by beating San Diego City College 8-2 on May 3.

2006 SEASON: Transferred from UC Irvine, where he red-shirted in Fall 2005, at the semester break. ... Saw duty as a reliever for the Comets and compiled a 4.26 ERA for 6 1/3 innings through the regular season. ... Pitched three innings in the Pacific Coast Conference without giving up a hit or a run. ... Pitched an inning of shutout relief in a 11-2 win over San Bernardino Valley on Feb. 10. ... Threw another shutout relief inning against Cerro Coso on Feb. 17. ... Pitched 2/3 of an inning with 0 hits, 0 runs and a strikeout as the Comets routed Southwestern 11-1 on March 2. ... Worked a hitless, scoreless inning in an 8-1 win at San Diego Mesa on April 1. ... Retired the side in order in the ninth inning, striking out one, in an 18-3 victory over Imperial Valley on April 6.
