2007 SEASON: Won the Comets' prestigious Jim Town Award, representing toughness, reliability, coming to play every day, team play and work ethic. ... Batted .483 after breaking into the starting line-up as the Comets' starting catcher on April 12, going 14-for-29 in that span and raising his average to .392 on the season, best among players who started at least 20 games. ... Finished with a .519 slugging percentage and a .400 on-base percentage. ... Hit .410 in Pacific Coast Conference games. ... Went 3-for-4 with an RBI against Ventura on Feb. 10. ... Slugged a solo home run over the left-field fence at Myers Field on March 22 as the Comets defeated Imperial Valley 8-5. ... Delivered a crucial pinch-hit single sixth inning on April 5, when the Comets pinned a 9-8 loss on Chaffey, which entered the game with a 24-9 record. ... Went 2-for-5 and drove in a run vs. Grossmont on April 17. ... Went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI, two runs scored and a sacrifice bunt in an 11-3 win at Imperial Valley on April 21 as the Comets rallied from an early 3-2 deficit to win decisively. ... Went 4-for-4 with a double and four RBIs in a 16-0 rout of the Arabs on April 24. ... Doubled in a 6-0 road win over conference champion San Diego Mesa on April 26. ... Went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and a double in a 9-3 victory on the road over San Diego City College on May 1. ... Came off the bench to single in his only plate appearance in an 8-2, season-ending victory over the Knights on May 3, when coach Buck Taylor started a sophomore lineup.

HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL: A first-team All-Valley League selection at Mission Hills High School in both 2005 and 2006 under former Comet Ryan Gallego. Was team MVP in 2005 and co-MVP in 2006. ... Selected to the San Diego Union-Tribune All-Academic team.
