PERSONAL: Born Dec. 11, 1986, in Provo, UT. ... Son of Ed and Karlyn Norton. ... Has four adult brothers (Jason, David, Randy and Eddie) and two adult sisters (Chantel and Nicole). ... Brother of David Norton, former baseball player at the University of Utah. ... Great, great nephew of Detroit Tigers Hall of Fame outfielder Ty Cobb. ... Will leave on a 2-year Mormon mission after the school year. Plans to return to pitch for the Comets after his mission.

2006 SEASON: Pitched pitched 6 2/3 innings, all in relief for the Comets. ... Compiled an ERA of 0.00 for 4 innings pitched in the Pacific Coast Conference. ... Pitched a shutout inning in a 11-1 win over Southwestern on March 2. ... Threw another shutout inning in a 12-1 victory over San Diego Mesa on March 9. ... Pitched a scoreless inning in an 8-0 win over Imperial Valley on April 4, combining with 5 other pitchers to shut out the Arabs. ... Had a scoreless relief inning at Grossmont on April 20.

HIGH SCHOOL: Compiled a 1.27 earned run average at Timpanogas High, helping lead the Timberwolves to Utah 4A state championships in 2002, 2004 and 2005. ...
