2005 SEASON: Batted .436 for 55 at-bats while seeing action at second base and at designated hitter as Palomar advanced to the State Championship game, the first San Diego County team to do so in 31 years. ... Hit .438 for 32 at-bats in Pacific Coast Conference games. ... Went 2-for-3 vs. Golden West on the road on Feb. 8. ... Started at second base in the Comets' 5-4 victory over San Diego City College on March 1 and had a single, walk and sacrifice bunt before leaving the game for a pinch-runner in the fifth inning. ... Went 2-for-2 and drove in a run as the Comets downed San Diego City 14-8 on March 15. ... Started at DH and went 2-for-4 on March 17 as Palomar beat San Diego City again 7-2. ... Went 4-for-5 with a double and an RBI as the Comets beat Orange Empire Conference leader Orange Coast 7-5 on March 21. Went 4-for-4 with a grand-slam home run in his best community college game April 7 as the Comets pounded Imperial Valley 30-4. ... Went 2-for-5 with 2 RBIs in a 19-4 victory at Imperial Valley on May 3. Southern California Super Regionals — Came into the game as a pinch-hitter in the 10th inning and doubled in the winning run as the Comets beat Southwestern 5-4 on May 22 to reach the championship game. State Final Fou — Delivered a pinch-hit, run-scoring double in the eighth inning in the Comets' State Championship game loss to Santa Rosa.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played for former Comet Steve Afenir at Escondido High School. ... Was two-time team MVP in 2003 and 2004, an All-CIF-San Diego Section selection as a senior, a two-time All-Valley League pick and four-year varsity letterman. Helped Cougars to the 2004 Valley League championship. ... Batted .420 as a senior with 20 RBIs. ... Also was Escondido's Most Valuable Wrestler, placed third in CIFtwice and was fifth in the Masters Tournament as a senior. Was Male Scholar Athlete of the Year at Escondido in 2003-04, a member of the National Scholastic Society and the California Scholarship Federation and twice made the Union-Tribune's All-Academic team.
