during the Palomar Tournament on Feb.
19-21 in helping lead the Comets to the
tournament championship with a 4-0
record. ... Went 3-for-3 with a triple in
a 6-1 win over College of the Siskiyous
on Feb. 19; went 3-for-4 with 2 RBIs in a
19-2 win over Siskiyous on Feb. 20; went
2-for-4 with a double, a sacrifice fly

pinch-hit double in the bottom of the
eighth inning vs. Imperial Valley on
March to drive in 2 runs and give the
Comets a 6-4, come-from-behind victory.
... Went 3-for-5 in a 10-9 win over
Grossmont on March 30. ... Went 2-for-3
with a triple, double, RBI and walk as
the Comets beat San Diego Mesa 6-5 on
April 1. ... Slugged a 2-run home run and
reached base both on a walk and as a hit
batter in a 15-0 win over San Diego City
College on April 13. Went 2-0for-04
with 2 RBIs in a 7-5 win over San Diego
Mesa on May 4, then came back in the
Comets' regular-season finale to go
2-for-3 with an RBI in a 10-3 victory

in the Comets' 8-7 loss to El Camino
College in the first round of the
Southern California Regionals.

Palomar after undergoing shoulder
surgery.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played for
coach Mike Pumar at Orange Glen High
School, making first-team All-North
County and first-team All-Valley League
as a senior in 2001. ... Was team MVP as
a senior. ... Batted .380 with 7 home
runs and 35 RBIs in 22 games. Also had a
7-1 record as a pitcher. ... Helped lead
the Patriots to the 2001 San Diego Lions
Tournament championship as well as
CIF-San Diego Section playoff berths in
1999 and 2001.
