to the All-Pacific Coast Conference first team
after batting .391 in conference play, trailing
only Kyle Floquet. ... Batted .301 overall. ...
Third on the team with five home runs and also
drove in 20 runs. ... Turned in his best
community college performance on April 4 when he
homered from both sides of the plate, including a
grand-slam shot in the second inning, in going
3-for-4 with seven RBIs against Southwestern. ...
... Went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a walk in a 10-8
win at San Diego Mesa on March 12 and was 2-for-4
with a grand-slam home run on March 19, which
boosted the Comets to a 7-5 win over defending
conference champion and current leader Grossmont.
... Also had multiple-hit games vs. San Diego
City College on March 23, against Imperial Valley
in the second game of a doubleheader when he was
3-for-3 with a home run, two RBIs and a walk, vs.
San Diego Mesa on April 16, vs. San Diego City
College on April 25 when he homered and doubled,
and again vs. City College on April 27. ... In
addition to his offensive performance, solidied
the Comets defensively after winning the starting
job at second base a month into the season.
2002
POSTSEASON:
Went 2-for-5 with a double in the
Comets' 15-14 Southern California Regional
victory over Glendale on May 11, and went 2-for-3
in a loss to Glendale that evening that
eliminated Palomar from postseason play. ... In
three Regional games, went 4-for-10.
2001
SEASON: Along
with Steve Guthrie, led the Comets in home runs
with five and also drove in 25 runs. ... Hit .309
in conference games for the Comets with a .557
slugging percentage, third on the team trailing
only Jake Guzman's .551 and Kyle Floquet's .462
in conference games. ... Homered twice during
Easter week, hitting a left-handed shot over the
right-center field fence with two out in the
bottom of the ninth inning to beat Moorpark, 3-2,
then delivering a towering HR from the right side
three days later at Golden West. ... That HR,
which scored Skip Adams and Keegan Moore ahead of
him in the fourth inning, cleared a 30-foot
screen behind the leftfield fence at the
Rustlers' field and landed on the street. ...
Also hit a grand-slam against College of the
Siskiyous on Feb. 18, a solo shot against
Imperial Valley on March 29 and a two-run HR vs.
Imperial Valley two days later. ... Has had
multiple-hit performances against Siskiyous on
Feb. 18, vs. Southwestern on Feb. 24, vs.
Grossmont on March 24, against Imperial Valley
March 29 and 31, vs. Golden West on April 12 and
vs. Pacific Coast Conference champion Grossmont
on April 26, when he went 4-for-4.
