How do I...?
Save my PowerPoint Presentation for the Web, and place it
on my web site?
-
Start PowerPoint.
-
Open your
PowerPoint presentation. For the sake of this example, let’s say
your presentation is called math13.ppt. When naming your
presentation, it is best to avoid spaces in the file name.
-
Choose File >
Save as a Web Page…
-
You will be
prompted for a save location. For our example, let’s choose the
desktop.
-
PowerPoint will
save a file on the desktop called "math13.htm"
and it will also save a folder full of files on the desktop called
"math13_files."
This folder contains web versions of the
slides, artwork, and any other components used in your presentation.
-
Close PowerPoint.
-
Start FrontPage.
-
Open your web (i.e., File > Open Web
> then type the URL in the folder name box).
-
After you have
authenticated on the network and your web is open, choose File >
Import
-
When the Import
dialog box comes up, click the Add File button in the upper
right-hand corner of the dialog box.
-
In the “Add File
to Import List” dialog box, Navigate to and choose the file
math13.htm and click OK. The file will be imported into your web.
-
Choose File >
Import again. This time click the “Add Folder” button (just below
the Add File button).
-
In the “File
Open” dialog box, navigate to the desktop and click once on the
folder math13_files to select it, then click “Open.”
-
Click OK on the
File Import dialog box. The folder and all its files will be
imported into your web. There is no need to create a folder
separately, FrontPage will do it for you!
-
That's it. When linking to your
presentation, link to the file math13.htm It is an index, which will
load the rest of the presentation.
