Spyware removal tools:

Microsoft has recently announced the release of their own spyware removal too.  It is available from the Windows update site. From within IE, click Tools > Windows Update to get it or find out more.

Phishing Schemes

Watch this video from Microsoft explaining what to do about Phishing schemes--that is, schemes to fraudulently steal your electronic identity over the web.

These are becoming common in Palomar email.  Never reply with personal information or Palomar credit card or other identifying numbers to emails that look legitimate.  Legitimate banks will not ask for personal information via email.

The windows media player version 10 is now available...and worth it.  Release date was Sept. 2.  The menus finally make sense ("rip," "burn," "library," "sync"...), and performance is unequaled.  Some problems have been reported, but overall it seems to work even better than version 9.  The download/install works fine on-campus.  Click here for the Windows media web site.

Blackboard at Palomar

We have upgraded to Blackboard 6.1, and Blackboard now lives on a new, much faster server.  So what's new?  Click here.
