I wanted to email you and thank you for all that you have done for me and all of the others that pass through the program at Palomar. The education I received from you has been second to none and it shows everytime I go out on a job site.

Well one of your program students just got hired as a full time Historical Archaeologist. Who is it? ME!!!!! I will be starting full time with Brian F Smith and Associates on Monday May 23rd. While the position I will be filling had a BA preferred requirement I was hired due to my knowledge of bottles, historic archaeology, and the education I received from the Palomar Archaeology program.

I will continue to pursue my BA at Cal State San Marcos while working full time. The first few weeks will be a "get to know the system" period. I will do Monitoring, then Field work then get acquainted with the lab. After the settling in period I will be working on Identifying, preserving and curating the Petco Park collection. This will be an exciting thing to work on. There is also a site that will be opening up in Carlsbad in the next couple of weeks that has Historical significance. I can't wait to get my hands dirty. :o)

Anyway I have rambled on enough. I really just wanted to thank you for the chance to go through the program and for all the help and guidance you have given me. Please pass this along to the students who may know me and feel free to put it up on the website to let others out there know that there is work out there in Archaeology.
