KAREN HOVLAND	Working for Gallegos and Associates in Carlsbad as field archaeologist and lab assistant.  Worked for Chambers Group (Summer 1999), Tierra Environmental Services and Affinis (Winter 2000), and Professional Archaeological Services (1998- 1999). Served as Teaching Assistant for Palomar Excavation Class (Fall 1999).
LAURIE SCHMELZER	Laurie will have the fantastic opportunity to excavate at the probable Indian village of Powhatan on Gloucester Farm in 2003.  She works as a 9th grade World History teacher in Yorktown, Virginia.  She has served a s volunteer lab assistant and field archaeologist for the 17th century Fairfield Plantation (http://fsweb.wm.edu/fairfield/) in Gloucester.  She has also worked with archaeologists from Fairfield and Colonial Williamsburg to create a collaborative Teacher's Institute for local teachers to learn about historical archaeology in Colonial Virginia.  Worked part-time at Jamestown Settlement Museum (www.historyisfun.org) as an historic interpreter in the Powhatan Indian Village.   Worked as lab assistant for Palomar Program and field archaeologist for Professional Archaeological Services (1996-1999).
LEE KERCKHOVE	Professor Kerckhove teaches philosophy but archaeology is his avocation. He was just selected as Interim Dean of Media, Business, and Community Services.   He has a Certificate in Survey and Lab Analysis and has virtually completed his Excavation Certificate.   He has also assisted Dr. de Barros with the Palomar Field School.
JEANIE JONES	Worked for KEA Environmental in Mojave Desert.  Did survey and excavation at prehistoric and historic archaeological sites for Professional Archaeological Services (Summer 2000 and 2001).   Completed internship with Cal State Parks at Cuyamaca Rancho State Park.  Served as intern with Tierra Environmental Services, Fall 2000.
SHANNON DAVIS	Just hired full-time at Edwards Air Force Base as an archaeologist.  Worked as Cultural Resources Intern at Vandenberg AFB for two years.  Completed B.A.  Trained as paleontological monitor.  Worked for Chambers Group in Costa Mesa as Field Archaeologist and Monitor.  Served as coordinator (including scheduling) of monitors in the field for a large fiber optics program.  Worked for Professional Archaeological Services at ORA-1582H and ORA-149, Summer 2001.
AI IKEDA	Obtained Certificates in Excavation and Surveying and Lab Analysis from Palomar College.  Doing internship at the San Diego Archaeological Center (SDAC), Spring 2001. Did internship via Independent Study at the SDAC, Fall 2000.  She has focused on collections processing and exhibits.
SATOMI HASEGAWA	Doing Independent Study internship at the San Diego Archaeological Center (SDAC), Spring 2001. Did similar internship at the SDAC, Fall 2000.
GREG VAN'T LAND	Served as Teaching Assistant for Palomar's excavation class; attending San Diego State University; Teaching Assistant for Palomar Excavation Class (Fall 1999 and Fall 2000) and Survey Class (Spring 2000).  Did excellent study of Indian bows for San Diego Museum of Man.
MICHAEL GARNSEY	Mike has graduated from UCSD with a B.A. in Anthropology (focus archaeology) and a minor in music. Mike participated in a field school at San Elijo Lagoon in 2002. He also interned at ASM in Encinitas where he does lab work and basic lithic analyses for 4  of the San Elijo Lagoon sites.  He also took a flintknapping class.  He plans to apply for the PhD program in archaeology at UCSD.  He has done surveying for Professional Archaeological Services, Fall 2000.
ED BOWEN	Used total station skills learned in ANTH 220 to help map SDI-913 at Cuyamaca Rancho State Park for the Cal State Parks, Summer 2001.  Served as Lab Assistant at Palomar (Fall 1999 and Spring 2000). Helped do total station mapping of SDI-5581 and sites at Cuyamaca State Park.
GAIL WRIGHT	Graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a B.A. in Archaeology/Anthropology at SDSU & has nearly completed her M.A. at SDSU.  Now working with San Diego County and the Historic Sites Board as an archaeologist.  Served as Teaching Assistant for Palomar's Excavation Class (1997-1998) and the Survey Class at Cuyamaca (Spring 2000). Served as Field Assistant for Palomar Archaeological Surveying Class, Spring 2002.
JOLENE MAGES	Graduated from Louisiana State University in forensic anthropology in December 2000. Recently worked for KEA Environmental at Camp Pendleton.  Now working as an investigator.
CHRISTIE AYSCUE	Attending University of South Carolina in forensic anthropology
MARIE MAKAMUL	Will be finishing her B.A. in Anthropology at the University of Maryland at College Park. Plans to go to Johns Hopkins University to focus on Near Eastern Studies (Egyptology). Served as Lab Assistant at Palomar Spring 2000 for the Palomar College Program.
ANDREW LOWN	Entered Humboldt State Fall 2002.  Worked for KEA Environmental at Camp Pendleton.   Worked for Chambers Group in Costa Mesa as Field Archaeologist and Monitor, 1999-2000; worked for Tierra Environmental Services and   Professional Archaeological Services  (1998-1999, 2001, 2003)
JESSICA BECKETT	Graduated Summa Cum Laude in Anthropology at San Diego State University; Anthropology Student of the Year; worked for Professional Archaeological Services (Fall 1998)
JACKIE VANDER GRIEND	Served as an intern at Tierra Environmental Services.  Served as intern in Palomar College Archaeology Lab, Fall 2000.  Survey worked for Professional Archaeological Services.
ANN KNOPP	Worked as Lab Assistant (1997-1998); wrote Summary of Poway Site Excavations (1996-1998) for the McFetridge Family.
STEVE BANKS	Currently doing CRM work in archaeology in California.  Served as Intern at Tierra Environmental Services (Spring 2000).  Assisting in Palomar Archaeology Lab, Spring 2001.
NICOLE STANEK	Served as intern with ASM Affiliates of Encinitas; independent study with Tierra Environmental Services (Spring 2000).  Did excavation at ORA-149 for Professional Archaeological Services (Summer 2001).
JEREMY MENDENHALL	Jeremy just completed his studies at Grove City College in Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Philosophy.  He hopes to take the Advanced Archaeological Survey Class in Spring 2004.  Jeremy is only 1-2 classes away from completing the Excavation and Lab/Survey Certificates.  Jeremy worked for Professional Archaeological Services (Spring 2000).
