Susan Walter Speaks About Historical Ceramics
At Home in Chula Vista
October 27, 2004 and October 26, 2006

In October of 2004 and 2006, the students from the ANTH 225 Historical Archaeology class took a field trip to Chula Vista to the home of Susan Walter and Steve Van Wormer.  Susan did a very interesting presentation on historic ceramic wares.  She presented a vast array of ceramic vessel and ware types that she could not have done if the presentation had been at Palomar College.  She discussed ceramic wares and their technology of manufacture as well as information on reference books used to identify ceramic wares, their dates of manufacture, and their manufacturers.  She also described how they work in their lab at home.  The photos of the various ceramic wares were taken at her home in 2004 and 2006.
