The Arboretum has undergone a transformation over the past few years thanks to member dues and contributions. Many new specimens have been planted, and improved watering systems have resulted in flourishing growth to the collections. Informative plant labels have been placed on many of the trees and plants. Did you know that the Cactus and Succulent Garden is now part of the Arboretum? Come take a walk and see what you’ve been missing!

The Arboretum offers something for everyone. It is a beautiful botanical garden with walking trails and benches, a place for outdoor lectures within walking distance of campus classrooms, a quiet and relaxing study and picnicking area for students and staff. The sciences, photography, physical education, anthropology, art, performing arts, and communication classes have used the Arboretum as a place for field trips and research. The valuable coastal sage scrub preserve, archeological sites and exchange programs with other botanical gardens have enriched community and student learning.

Today, more than ever, we need members to ensure that the Arboretum develops into a first class botanical garden. Please become a member of the Friends of the Palomar College Arboretum!  In addition to your tax deductible membership, here are a few additional benefits:

    ·        Annual campus parking permit for community members is optional and will cost an additional $30 with membership.  Note: You cannot be enrolled in classes to qualify for the 1 year parking permit. That includes both credit and zero unit classes.
