The
James Hubbell Structure
The
James Hubbell structure was moved from across the street at the
north end of the San Marcos campus. The structure needed to be
relocated to make room for the new Science Technology building.
The work will be restored and brought back to it's original
beauty, and will be an exciting art piece for visitors to see as
well as a great addition to the Palomar College Arboretum. The
restoration will be a community and student art project
coordinated by Ground Services Supervisor Rick Kratcoski and Art
Department Chair Jay Schultz. Beginning in late March, 2007,
students studying ceramics, glass and sculpture will work under
the direction of Mr. Hubbell to restore the tile work and glass
inlays, and extend the existing surfaces to help integrate them
into their new environment.
