Course Description:

This QuickBooks course is an introduction to computerized accounting/bookkeeping.  Topics include:  invoices, check writing, receiving payments, general ledger, working with retail and merchandising companies, converting from manual to computerized accounting, payroll, online bill paying and banking, and report generation.  Employers require QuickBooks as a “must have” basic skill in today’s technological accounting and bookkeeping workforce, and small, medium and large business owners are using QuickBooks as a standard software application and accounting system.

 Recommended Preparation:  Computer Literacy and Accounting and Bookkeeping Principles

 Suggested Textbook: 

 QuickBooks Pro 2006 with Update 2007 and CD Package (9th edition), Janet Horne, Prentice Hall, ISBN: 013242407X

Coming May 1, 2008, QuickBooks 2008 with 140 day free trial software!!!

 
Recommended Software:

QuickBooks Pro 2007 software (should be available for $99 in the bookstore on campus or through www.efollet.com    Student must provide a valid school e-mail address to purchase the software.
