2004-2005 EOC participant, Candace Smith
I was first introduced to the EOC program while staying at North County
Serenity house program. I met Liz Gary, the EOC
coordinator, she inspired me to come in and start my educational goals and dreams. I
was a full time student, and I worked on campus with Liz Gary
telling others about education, just as she did for
me. To be able to help and inspire others is the
most rewarding feeling. My goals are to get my
degree in Communications and help others. I plan on
transferring to a university to finish pursuing my educational goals!

2004-2005 Participant, Terry Cambell
I've wanted to go to school for a long time but I had kept putting it off. I finally decided it was time when I saw Liz and the EOC staff when they gave a presentation about their services at a parole meeting in Escondido . This is my first semester at Palomar College and I am very motivated, I'm getting good grades and my classes and homework are keeping me on track. My goal is to become a drug and alcohol counselor and I'm doing whatever it takes to reach my goal. Every morning I get up at 5:30 am to ride the bus to Palomar College to attend school full-time. Liz and the EOC staff helped me with the entire process of enrolling and applying for financial aid. There's no excuse, anyone can go to college and there are a lot of great people waiting to help you achieve your goals.
