Off-Campus Access to Online Databases

NOTE: Off-campus access may not be available 6-7 am daily

NOTICE: On  Thursday, September 27,  there will be a change in the way you access the Library’s online research databases when you are off-campus and when you use a wireless connection on-campus.  Instead of using database passwords issued by the Library, you will access all these programs with your Palomar College campus login (student ID#/eServices password for students; network user name/password for faculty and staff).

You may have encountered  the new login prompt already from some links on the Library website. The conversion continues until the 27th, at which time all databases will require a Palomar campus login. Until that time, you may still be asked for a library-issued password, so don’t discard those yet (see instructions below if you need one).

Getting Library Database Passwords

All databases are available for searching without passwords from any computer at Palomar College. Current students, faculty, and staff may also access the databases off-campus using your Palomar College student userid/password or staff username/password OR a special database password assigned by the Library. To obtain the special database passwords:

OR

Eligibility will be verified. Passwords may not be posted on any website (personal, course, Blackboard, or any other site), printed on syllabi or other course documentation, or distributed to anyone whose status has been not been formally verified by a member of the Library’s public services staff (in-person, by phone, or online registration). Passwords used by unauthorized persons or eligible persons who have violated these conditions of use will be blocked immediately. For more information, call (760) 744-1150 x2614 or x8113.
