I'm having difficulty downloading applications from your website.

All job descriptions and applications on our website are in Adobe Reader format, and can only be accessed if the current version of the Adobe Reader Reader program is installed on your computer.  You can download this FREE program from the Adobe website at www.adobe.com/products/Reader/readstep.html.  The current version in use is Acrobat 7.0.  If you are using an earlier version, you may have difficulty viewing Acrobat files on our website.

Additionally, computers that do not have the most recent version of Microsoft Internet Explorer or another browser installed may not be able to download application materials properly.  Download the current version of Microsoft Internet Explorer from the Microsoft website at microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.asp.

Computers that have slower processors, run on older versions of Windows or Macintosh operating systems, or have dial-up modems that connect at slower than 56 kbps may also experience difficulty in downloading applications from our website.  The larger the file, the longer the download time.  Typically, applications on our website take only minutes or less to download on a 28.8 kbps connection, but if your computer has any of the issues mentioned, you may need to wait longer.  If, after several minutes, you continue to experience difficulty, please follow these instructions:

a) Click the "Back" button on your browser.
b) Right-click the link to the application you would like to download.
c) Select the "Save Target As" option, and save the file to your desktop.

If you are still unable to view or print pages from our website after following the instructions above, please call the 24-Hour Job Line at (760) 744-1150 ext. 4181 or stop by the Human Resource Services office in room A-1 on the main campus in San Marcos to access current job opportunities and obtain application materials.

Can I submit my application online?

Applications for all permanent and part-time faculty positions may be filled out online. Please note, however, that after you fill out the application online, it must be printed, signed and submitted with the other application materials required for the position for which you are applying.  Application materials may be submitted to Employment Services in person, via postal service, or by fax if followed with a hard copy sent by postal service.

How do I fill out the application online?

1. Complete all required form fields of the application, starting with the "Date of Application" field.  If more space is required to complete any section - for example, if there are not enough fields on the application form to list your entire employment history - please create additional sheets to include the information that doesn't fit on the form, and attach these sheets to your application.

      Helpful Hints:

  • Hold the mouse cursor over the form field without clicking to view a description of what information is required in the field and suggested formatting tips.

  • Type the required information into the field.

  • Press the "Tab" key to move to the next field.

2. Print all pages of the application.

3. Sign all required portions of the application.

4. Submit your completed application packet and other items listed on page 2 of the Position Announcement to Employment Services.

Technical questions or comments about completing the application online?  Please call (760) 744-1150 ext. 3043 or send an email to palomarjobs@palomar.edu.

I am unable to fill out the application online.  How else can I complete it?

- You may print the application and fill it out by hand or typewriter.

Where can I find applications on your website?

Applications for permanent and part-time faculty positions are available on our website at www.palomar.edu/hr/palomarjobs.htm.  Click on the type of position you are interested in applying for (for instance, click "Full-Time Faculty" if you are interested in a full-time faculty position), and you will be directed to the page of our website containing the corresponding open positions.  Then, click on the position title that interests you to access the position announcement and application for that position.  The actual application packet for each position begins after the first two pages of information about the position.

Please note: With the exception of part-time faculty positions, Employment Services can only supply and accept application materials for specific open positions.  As each application packet is tailored to a specific, current opening, we are unable to give applications to candidates for general use or future consideration.
