Dear Parents/Guardians:

As a participant in our Early Acceptance Program, your student will be given priority registration for fall 2012.  Registration begins Junes 7.  We would like to make you aware of what your student needs to do.  The first step is to complete the assessment.  Here are your student’s options:

  • Test at their high school.   Please check with the high school counseling office to see if we will be coming to their school. If so, make your assessment appointment at their high school.
  • Come to Palomar as a group with their high school.  Several schools are coming to the Palomar campus in Escondido or San Marcos to take our assessment.  Check with their high school Counseling Office to see if their high school will be coming as a group.
  •  Make an appointment to come to Palomar College, San Marcos or Escondido campus, during February or March for a special EAP testing session.  Please call (760) 744-1150 ext. 2182, 2476 or 2383 to make an appointment.
  • Schedule an assessment appointment in April at the Palomar campus in San Marcos or Escondido to take our assessment.  Our April schedule will be posted mid March.  We will have 9-10 testing sessions per week in San Marcos; 3-4 at Escondido.  Go online to Palomar.edu and click on Assessment in the “Quick Links.”  When attending a session, inform the proctor that you are a 2012 graduating senior.
  •  DEADLINE TO TAKE THE ASSESSMENT TO QUALIFY FOR  EAP is April 30, 2012

The next step after taking the assessment is to attend a Saturday orientation:

  • Have your students reserve a spot for orientation.  Saturday appointments will be available in March, April and May with a counselor at Palomar (San Marcos campus) for an orientation and to develop an educational plan with a counselor.

  • You will not be able to attend the orientation with your student.  Please plan accordingly.

  • Students may make an appointment online beginning February 13th.  Go to the Reservation/Appointment Information page for information on how make a reservation for an orientation.  After orientation, students may register on June 7 using eServices from any location.  Refer to Next Steps After Orientation for instructions.

We will be holding our Parent Orientations in May.  You are all invited to attend one of the following sessions at 6:30 pm in the Governing Board Room (SSC-1):
