programs in San Diego North County!
The Data Entry Clerk
program strives to meet the needs of students who are building basic
skills, re-entering the workforce, changing careers, or retraining
on current computer programs.
Instruction emphasizes
the development of the numeric (10-key) pad on the computer keyboard
in combination with the alphabetic keys to help students gain
employment as a data entry operator.

Data Entry clerks input lists of items, numbers or other
data including customer information, medical records, or
membership lists utilizing the ten-key pad on the computer
keyboard. They also may reformat existing data, edit current
information, or proofread new entries for accuracy. Data
entry personnel may use scanners. electronically transmitted
files, or other forms of character recognition systems. Immediate job openings are available to those who
meet minimum industry standards for keyboarding speed and
accuracy. An industry-education advisory committee is
active in providing current information on job trends, job
placement and employment opportunities are available through
the
career center and the
